The dead love

The wind brought the smell of the sea, and a house stood quietly. Beside the house, there was a tall cliff. The sunset made the sea seemed to be golden, everything was quiet and beautiful, and especially a man and a woman who looked like a couple lying on the beach together. A painter, who was in the house, smiled and looked at them peacefully and was trying to paint them on the paper to keep this scene forever that he just wanted to make this scene persist.

The painter was a good friend to the young couple; they knew each other for a long time. One day, the young woman, called Claire, asked the painter if he would mind if they planted a tree in front of his house. “Of course you can, but I won’t help you plant the tree or take care of the tree. That’s what Lucas needs to do.” He blinked his shining brown eyes and gave a wide smile to Lucas. Then, Lucas said, “I will definitely do that, thanks for your permission.” And he touched his wife’s curly, long hair gently with loving eyes. “Wow!” Claire became so happy that she jumped really high and looked like a little child.

On the day they planted the tree, the weather was nice with gentle breeze. Claire ran and ran, she already thought the place they were in was so boring and so deserted for a long time, but it would change that day. Lucas looked at her with a simile that showed he would do whatever she wanted him to do. He loved him so much. The sunshine made her seemed like an angle, the soft breeze quietly blew the small leaves. He wished these things could last forever. The painter looked at them from the window, and he wished so too. He wished everything that’s wonderful could last forever.

Unfortunately, sad news came one day, Lucas and Claire must leave the beach and go to different places. Claire firstly thought she would never leave Lucas unshakably. But both her and Lucas’ family didn’t allow them to stay together. So, they left each other sadly. At the day they left, it was raining, and the painter could not really identify if the water on their face is the rain or the tears. He also felt really sad that two of his best friends could not stay together anymore. They were lastly separated, everything were so depressed and could never get better any more

One day a year later, the painter that was still live on the seaside looked outside the window again, but there was no happy laughter and cheerful voice anymore. The world was inanimate and decayed for him. The tree died, no body took care of it anymore. Everything made him feel the despair in his life.

He started to paint again, by using really dark and impure color, to paint the world with no love, with some melting clocks showed the “forever” that people wanted to have. He wanted to express desolate feeling by painting. Outside his window, the scene was still the same but people were different. He painted them down because he wanted to remember it forever. Even though they left, the clocks in his mind were already melted, and he wanted to paint them down, for commemorating the dead love of Lucas and Claire.
